Who this is for

You have songs. They're stuck somewhere between the voice memo and the release.

Maybe the chorus lands but the verses don't. Maybe you've rewritten the bridge nine times. Maybe you've never had someone with a producer's ear tell you honestly what's working. Writing alone is slow, and a one-off session fixes one song without making you a better writer.

This partnership pairs both: a coach who hears every song you write, and a producer who can take the ready ones all the way to streaming.

  • Singer-songwriters building a catalog
  • Artists getting ready to release
  • Worship leaders writing for their church
  • Writers pitching for sync or for other artists

How it works

One journey, three commitments

You never pay twice for the same thing. The retainer buys my ears; the project fee buys my hands.

  1. 1

    Development retainer

The ongoing relationship. Monthly one-on-one calls and feedback on demos, lyrics and structure between calls. This is where your songs and your craft grow.

  2. 2

    Production

Project work, only when a song is ready to be finished. We scope it together and I quote it before any work starts. Most songs start around $1,500.

  3. 3

    Mix and master

The finish line: the release-ready file you upload to streaming. Fixed scope, fixed price, up to two rounds of revisions.

The free 30‑minute Song Audit

Send me one song you're working on. A voice memo is fine. We'll get on a call and I'll give you three specific notes you can use today, whether or not we keep working together.

  1. Send a song. Fill out the form with a link to your demo.
  2. I listen first. I'll reply within two business days with times for a call.
  3. Thirty minutes, three notes. Lyric, structure, and one production idea.

Your coach and producer

David Walker

I've spent more than twenty years helping artists, songwriters and worship leaders write, record and finish their songs. I founded Curate House in 2014 and have recorded and produced more than 30 albums across genres, from congregational worship to indie folk.

For years I co-led the 10,000 Fathers worship school in Atlanta, which has sent nearly 500 graduates into ministry in 20 countries, and produced five of its live albums. I've also served in the nonprofit and church space for 24 years as a Worship Arts and Production Pastor.

I'm a certified Gallup Strengths coach (ICF) with Enneagram and Working Genius certifications, and I hold an MA in Theology and Liturgical Arts. That shapes how I coach: your craft matters, and so does the person writing.

Calls on Zoom or in person, production in Lawrenceville

Coaching works from anywhere. When a song is ready, we produce it at Curate House: a 2,200 sq ft studio in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with a 32-channel live tracking room and a separate mix room. Remote production works too.

Questions

Before you start

Who is this for?

Any songwriter who wants to finish better songs: singer-songwriters, artists heading toward a release, writers pitching for sync or other artists, and worship leaders writing for their church. Genre doesn't matter. I've produced everything from indie folk to congregational records.

I only have voice memos. Is that enough?

Yes. A phone recording of you and a guitar or piano is all I need to give real feedback. Polished demos come later.

What happens on the first call?

We set a 90-day song plan: the one to three songs we're working toward and what "finished" means for each. Then we get to work.

Can I cancel?

Anytime, with 30 days' notice. If the first month isn't helping, tell me and I'll refund it.

How does Core production credit work?

Every month on Core banks $150 toward production. After your third month it's yours to use, and it comes off the top of any production quote. A year on Core covers a full production for most songs.

Can my church or organization pay for this?

Yes. Churches, schools and creative teams can sponsor a seat for a staff or volunteer writer on a 3-month term, invoiced to the organization. Ask about a sponsored seat.
